The Government of Goa Vide Notification No. 2/2/2010-GAD-III/Vol.I/2049 dated 19th May, 2026, has declared Sunday, the 24th May, 2026 as a Paid Holiday being the Polling Day for the Bye-Elections in the State of Goa to the workers of all establishments including commercial and industrial undertakings, and to daily wage / casual workers employed in any business, trade, industrial undertakings, Government departments, State Government Industrial Departments or any other establishment, provided they are the voters for the aforesaid Bye-Election. The Government of Karnataka Vide Notification No. KA 411 LWA 2023, has issued a revision of minimum wage effective 22nd May 2026, consolidating wages for 99 scheduled employments into a single notification. Wages are structured across four skill categories (Highly Skilled, Skilled, Semi-Skilled, and Unskilled) and three geographic zones, with Zone 1 (Greater Bengaluru) rates ranging from Rs989/day (Unskilled) to Rs1,316/day (Highly Skilled).
